Snowden-trained Repeal breaks his maiden at Pakenham

The Peter and Paul Snowden-trained Repeal (2 e ex Cancel by Exceed And Excel) broke his maiden at Pakenham on Thursday to provide Newgate Farm's Capitalist (Written Tycoon) with his 13th winner. 

Rounding the hometurn in front, Repeal showed a good turn of foot to maintain his lead and scored a two and three quarter length victory over four-year-old Comano (Equiano). 

Repeal was bought for $150,000 by Snowden Racing from the draft of Coolmore Stud at last year's Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale. He is out of the dual winner Cancel (Exceed And Excel) who was bought by Coolmore Australia at the 2018 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale for $400,000. His second dam is Listed placed Cataclysm (Marauding) who produced seven winners headed by Blue Diamond Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) winner Earthquake (Exceed And Excel). 

Capitalist, who sits at the head of the leading first season sires table in Australia by both earnings and winners has sired four stakes winners in Group 1 winner Captivant, Kalashnikov, Profiteer and Tycoon Humma while his first crop also includes six stakes performer in Gleneagles, Miss Tuppence, Sneaky Shark, Forbes, Marine One and Mission Value.
