My Squeeze Louise tackles SA Fillies Classic

3 minute read

Daughter of Mongolian Khan looks to add black-type to pedigree

Denis Pagan will saddle-up his first runner in South Australia on Saturday when My Squeeze Louise (Mongolian Khan) runs in the SA Fillies Classic (Gr 3, 2500m).

Having already placed third in the Tasmanian Oaks (Listed, 2100m) in February, Pagan is excited to see his filly by Mongolian Khan stretched beyond 2100 metres for the first time.

"We will find out a little bit more about her (distance range), she's such a tough little filly and she's really pleased us," Pagan said from his Flemington stables on Thursday.

"I'm just looking forward to Adelaide just to see what happens with her, I've backed her up pretty quickly but she's bucking her brands off and full of herself.

"I'm not going to restrain her, I'm just going to let her bowl along and see what happens.

"I'd just love her to have a win next to her name, another win actually, then I'd be really happy with her prep.

I don't take a hell of a lot of notice what the good judges say, look she's an outsider and all I want her to do is run to her best and give her all and if she does that she will please me.

“She will go tonight (Thursday) and stay at Leon Macdonald's stables, I'm really grateful for Leon to allow me to box her over there, then she can walk across the road Saturday and show her stuff."
