After her heroic effort to win the Woodlands Stakes (Listed, 1100m) at Rosehill last Saturday, the John Thomspson-trained Xtremetime (Extreme Choice) will now head to the spelling paddock.

The Listed race was the second win of the two-year-old filly's career, with the daughter of Extreme Choice (Not A Single Doubt) having broken her maiden at Canterbury on April 21.

"She's a promising filly. From day one she showed above average ability," Thompson said.

"I was just impressed how first-up, she jumped, led and dictated and then held off the challengers. Then improved off the back of that from a wide draw on Saturday, to come from the back of the field and went right around them and beat them.

"It was 1200 metres first up and then 1100 metres on Saturday, so I dare say she was probably looking for further than 1100 on Saturday so it was a credit to her to get up and win."

The two-year-old is now proven on good and soft tracks but will spend the winter months spelling and preparing for tougher assignments in her future.

"I haven't really thought that far ahead, but at this stage we'll get through the spring and worry about it after that," Thompson said.

"She's having a month out and she'll come back for the three-year-old princess series in Sydney, the four three-year-old fillies races."
