Trainer Gordon Richards has said a trip to Queensland is looking unlikely for his stablestar Gytrash (Lope De Vega).

Last seen running third in The Goodwood (Gr 1, 1200m) on Saturday, the gelding is currently favourite for Kingsford-Smith Cup (Gr 1, 1300m) at Eagle Farm on May 29, but the horse would have to be in perfect condition for him to press on this campaign.

"He would want to be perfect at the end of this week," Richards said.

"If I had three weeks between runs it would be a lot better, or easier. But with only the two weeks between runs, we have to fly up … I know he handles it well, it doesn't worry him but it's something to take into consideration.

"He's going to have to be 100 per cent well in himself and all the boxes have to be ticked. But it's looking more and more likely that I will send him up.

"Of course, if Racing Queensland come to the party and pay for his flight up, then it would make it even better and tip it over the line."
