Incentivise demolishes his rivals in the Tattersalls Cup
The Steve Tregea-trained Incentivise (4 g ex Miss Argyle by Iglesia) demolished his rivals in Saturday’s Tattersalls Cup (Listed, 2400m) at Eagle Farm, recording a 12 length victory and handing his Rosemont Stud-based sire Shamus Award (Snitzel) his 15th stakes winner.
Incentivise has now won his last six starts and was stepping up to stakes company for the first time, however, this proved no issue for the son of Shamus Award who took the lead rounding the home turn and pulled away in the straight to post an impressive victory. Mirage Dancer (Frankel) finished second, with Traduce (Savabeel) third.
“For a horse that you would not have given two bob for twelve months ago, I do not know what to say,” Tregea said.
“He has just kept improving. He looked like a stayer, and that is what he is.
“He just keeps surprising. He did better this week than the week before. He put a couple of kilos on.
“I don’t know where he ends up in Melbourne. We all dream about the cups, but plenty of things can go wrong before then.”
Incentivise will now be spelled and will then head to the stable of Peter Moody with a 50 per cent stake having been purchased by Brae Sokolski and Ozzie Kheir.
Incentivise is out of Listed placed mare Miss Argyle (Iglesia) making him a half-brother to Listed winners Cheyenne Warrior (Not A Single Doubt) and Bergerac (Drumbeats) as well as Group 3 winning colt Ardrossan (Redoute’s Choice).
