Son of American Pharoah resumes from a spell with a win on Monday
Buck Pharoah (2 g ex Sequential, by Lion Hunter), a son of Coolmore Australia shuttler American Pharoah (Pioneerof The Nile) scored his second victory at Taree on Monday.
Trained by Neil Godbolt, Buck Pharoah was spelled after he broke his maiden at Port Macquarie in March and resumed from a spell to win over 1000 metres beating older horses as favourite.
Buck Pharoah was purchased by his trainer for $33,000 at the Magic Millions Gold Coast National Yearling Sale from the Highgrove Stud draft and he is the fifth winner out of the unraced mare Sequential (Lion Hunter), who was purchased by Rosemont Stud for $70,000 at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale in 2019.
Sequential's five winners are headed by Listed winner Excitable Boy (More Than Ready) and she is a half-sister to Listed winners Order Of The Sun (Encosta De Lago), Beauty (Smart Missile) and Get To Work (Snippets).
Further back this is the same pedigree as Group 1 winner Summer Passage (Snitzel).
Last spring Sequential foaled a filly by Newgate Farm's exciting young stallion Capitalist (Written Tycoon) and was covered by Rosemont Stud's resident stallion Starcraft (Soviet Star) in last November.
Buck Pharoah is one of three Australian winners for American Pharoah, who has sired 19 stakes-winners worldwide including three Group 1 winners in the Northern Hemisphere where his oldest progeny are now four year-olds.
American Pharoah returns to Australia this spring at a fee of $49,500 (inc GST).
