Revivalist breaks his maiden at Newcastle on Saturday.

Arrowfield Stud shuttler Shalaa (Invincible Spirit) added his sixth Australian-bred winner on Saturday when Revivalist (2 c ex Rationality by Flying Spur) broke his maiden over 1200 metres at Newcastle. 

Trained by Peter and Paul Snowden for a partnership that includes Newgate Bloodstock and China Horse Club, Revivalist beat Whatever I Say (Pierro) by three quarters of a length with another three and a half lengths back to My Belladonna (Benfica) in third. 

Revivalist was bought for $380,000 by China Horse Club, Newgate Bloodstock and Winstar from last year's Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale when offered by Arrowfield Stud. He becomes the second winner, from as many runners, out of the five-time winning Flying Spur (Danehill) mare Rationality who is a sister to three-time Group One winner Mentality (Flying Spur). 

A brother to Revivalist was bought by Griffiths de Kock Racing and Peter Ford Thoroughbreds for $200,000 ast this year's Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale and Rationality was covered by Written Tycoon (Iglesia) last spring. 

Shalaa's Australian-bred crop is headed by dual Group Three winner Shaquero, who also won the Magic Millions 2YO Classic (RL, 1200m) and includes the stakes placegetters Hunnam, Tayla's Moment and Nice For What. He has sired another two stakes winners in Europe in No Speak Alexander and King Shalaa and his overall winners tally stands at 46. 

His 2021 fee has been set at $44,000 (inc GST), up from $33,000 (inc GST) a year ago when he covered 170 mares at Arrowfield Stud, his biggest book in Australia to date.
