The Lloyd Williams-owned Melbourne Cup (Gr 1, 3200m) contenders Pondus (Sea The Moon) and Dawn Patrol (Galileo) left England on Friday bound for Australia and once they have completed 14 days of post export quarantine in Australia, will be trained by Robert Hickmott from Macedon Lodge.

Also on the flight are the Williams-owned Cormorant (Kingman) and three-year-old Point Nepean (Camelot).

"These horses that are coming over are staying here," Williams told Racing.com.

"Bringing them out at this time of year with the quarantine (conditions), you need a lot of luck," Williams said.

"You've got to do 14 days' quarantine in Newmarket and 14 days' quarantine in Mickelham, with no ridden exercise on either side. All they've got access to whilst doing quarantine is a walker.

"But if you have a bit of luck, you'll do alright," Williams added.

Williams has won the Melbourne Cup seven times to date.
