Oblivion breaks his maiden at Taree on Tuesday while Vadeni wins on debut in France

12th winner for Winning Rupert
Winning Rupert (Written Tycoon) sired his 12th winner when Oblivion (2 g ex Mossbeat by Mossman) broke his maiden over 1000 metres, by two and three quarter lengths, at Taree on Tuesday. Oblivion was originally a $280,000 purchase by James Harron Bloodstock at the 2020 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale before being recently sold to current trainer John Sprague on an Inglis Online Auction where he was purchased for $22,000 and was subsequently gelded. Winning Rupert is the third leading first season sire by winners and will stand for a fee of $11,000 (inc GST) at Newgate Farm.

 

Tenth winner for Churchill
Shuttle sire Churchill (Galileo) sired his tenth first season winner in the northern hemisphere when Vadeni (2 c ex Vaderana by Monsun) won on debut in a maiden over 1400 metres at La Teste de Buch on Monday. Vadeni settled down in last position and came with a good run on the outside showing a good turn of foot to score by two lengths. Churchill’s progeny are headed by recent Listed winner Ladies Church (2 f ex Rioticism by Rio De La Plata). Churchill will stand at Coolmore Australia for a fee of $22,000 (inc GST).
