The Philip Stokes-trained Runaway Belle (2 f ex Jessej by Sepoy) will become the first runner for Arrowfield Stud Pariah (Redoute’s Choice) and the first runner for the new crop of first season sires when she lines up at Flemington on Wednesday.

Bought for $100,000 by Stokes at the Magic Millions Adelaide Yearling Sale earlier this year from the draft of her breeder Longwood Thoroughbred Farm, Runaway Belle finished third, beaten a length and a quarter, at the two-year-old trials at Cranbourne earlier this month behind the Peter Moody-trained duo Rampant Lion (Frankel) and Millane (Zoustar).

Runaway Belle faces seven rivals in Wednesday’s Darley Sprint Preview (900m) and will be partnered by Ben Allen who rode the filly in the Cranbourne trial and is a $7.40 change with the favourite being the James Cummings-trained Contemporary (Exceed And Excel).
