12 for Pride of Dubai
Queen Of Dubai (3 f ex Jezzabba by Fastnet Rock) recorded her second victory and first at stakes level in Saturday’s Jim Moloney Stakes (Listed, 1400m), becoming the 12th stakes winner for her Coolmore Australia’s Pride Of Dubai (Street Cry). A $500,000 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale purchase from the draft of Segenhoe Stud by her trainers Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, Queen Of Dubai scored a length victory over Zouzarella (Zoustar) and now looks to have earned herself a tilt at the Thousand Guineas (Gr 1, 1600m).

"She won impressively today. As long as she comes through that run good and Gai is happy with her, I can't see why she couldn't step up to that level," said Melbourne stable representative Beau Dunn. Pride Of Dubai is covering his sixth book of mares this year at a fee of $22,000 (inc GST).

14 for Shocking
Rich Hill Stud’s Shocking (Street Cry) sired his 14th stakes winner on Saturday when the Emma Lee and David Browne-trained Elephant (5 g ex Ticklish by Maroof) took out the Sandown Stakes (Gr 3, 1500m). The gelding beat Romancer (Redwood) by a length and a quarter and took his record to six wins and one placing in seven career starts. Elephant’s only career defeat came last start when he was second, beaten a nose, in the Feehan Stakes (Gr 2, 1600m) and he will now be aimed at the Toorak Handicap (Gr 1, 1600m) at Caulfield on October 9.

"I was pretty nervous, to be fair, but he was super. That was pretty strong. He kept kicking to the line well and I think there is a bit more improvement yet,” said Browne. "He's strengthened up a bit and his coat has got a bit to go still. Hopefully he can carry on with it. In all his races, if you look at them, in the last bit he always finds a bit more and lengthens out really well. That's where he gets it over the rest of them."

23 for American Pharoah
Coolmore Australia shuttler American Pharoah (Pioneerof The Nile) notched up his 23rd stakes winner when Head Of State (3 c ex Derelique by Danehill Dancer) won the Gloaming Stakes (Gr 3, 1800m) at Rosehill. A $850,000 buy by Tom Magnier from the draft of Lime Country at last year’s Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, the Chris Waller-trained Head Of State beat $1.9 million Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale graduate Profondo (Deep Impact) by a neck and he will now be aimed at the Spring Champion Stakes (Gr 1, 2000m) in two weeks time.

"That's the plan. We thought he would take good progress from today's run in two weeks' time," Waller said. "Obviously, the second horse was very good and he'll have a bit of improvement to come. I love the way they gapped the rest."

155 for Medaglia d’Oro
Former Darley shuttler Medaglia d’Oro (El Prado) sired his 155th stakes winner when Yonkers (6 g ex Anne Of Kiev by Oasis Dream) won the Shannon Stakes (Gr 2, 1500m) at Rosehill. The Chris Waller-trained Yonkers beat Discharged (Snitzel) by a neck with the same distance back to Reloaded (Snitzel) in third. Medaglia d’Oro shuttled to Australia for eight seasons between 2010 and 2017.

Six for Vancouver
In winning the Golden Pendant (Gr 2, 1400m), Vangelic (4 m ex Angel Bee by Pins) provided her Coolmore Australia-based sire Vancouver (Medaglia d’Oro) with his sixth stakes winner. A $400,000 purchase by her co trainers Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott from the draft of Segenhoe Stud at the 2019 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, Vangelic held off the challenge of Nimalee (So You Think) on her outside to record a good victory.

"Her record probably should read a little bit better than the one win," winning jockey Tim Clark said. "She got a really good set up today – dry track, was able to control and get things her own way and she always improves with a run under her belt as well, so she was always going to come here and be hard to beat."

Vancouver is covering his sixth book of mares this spring at a fee of $22,000 (inc GST).

20 for Alamosa
Wellfield Lodge’s Alamosa (O’Reilly) sired his 20th stakes winner on Saturday when well-bred House Of Cartier (6 m ex Shez Sinsational by Ekraar) won the Mile Handicap (Gr 3, 1600m) at Awapuni. Trained by Peter Didham, House Of Cartier scored a two and a quarter length victory over Beauden (Bullbars), with Mauna Kea (Per Incanto) third.
