Bello Beau takes out Sunday’s Elwick Stakes
In winning Sunday's Elwick Stakes (Listed, 1100m), the Adam Trinder-trained Bello Beau (2 g ex Bella Princess by Flying Spur) became the 16th stakes winner for Darley's Brazen Beau (I Am Invincible).
Bello Beau is now two from two after impressing on debut last month and under Jason Maskiell, the gelding pulled clear in the straight to beat Remuda (Inference) by two lengths. The gelding is now likely to head to the Gold Sovereign Stakes (Listed, 1200m) in two weeks.
"That's our only immediate target but there may be a SuperVOBIS race at Caulfield in May that we have a look at," Trinder said.
Bred by Enak Pty Ltd, Bello Beau was bought for $70,000 by owner Wayne Roser at last year's Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale when offered by Supreme Thoroughbreds.
He is one of seven winners for his dam, the stakes placed Flying Spur (Danehill) mare Bella Princess who was bought for $55,000 at the Inglis August Thoroughbred Sale in 2013.
Bello Beau is the last foal produced by Bella Princess after she missed to Toronado (High Chaparral) in 2019.
