Musk Creek Farm would prefer to think good management was the key to its success on Day 1 at this year's Inglis Premier Sale, but it is prepared to concede karma may have played a role.

The Victorian farm only had the colt to offer after they bought Personalised to go with a service to Dundeel that they acquired at a charity auction in 2019.

The service was one of eight to high-profile stallions offered to raise money for Tye Angland in the months following his fall in Hong Kong, which left him a paraplegic, and Musk Creek paid $100,000 in the year that Arrowfield had a $66,000 fee attached to Dundeel.

"It's nice that we've ended up with a good result and there's maybe a bit of karma in there as well," Musk Creek's farm manager Scott Williamson said.

"We bought the mare off the back off buying that charity nom and the first foal made $575,000 and for this foal to make $520,000 it's very rewarding."

Musk Creek paid $525,000 for Personalised at the 2019 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale when she was in-foal to Spirit Of Boom.

The daughter of Snitzel, who is a half-sister to VRC Oaks winner Personal and a granddaughter of renowned producer Procrastinate, produced a colt who sold to Tony Gollan and John Foote for $575,000 at last year's Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

The Dundeel colt was bought by Victorian trainer Matt Laurie, who has high aspirations for him as a three-year-old.

"We'll give him plenty of time," Laurie said. "He's a Classic-style of horse, he's got the looks to match and the pedigree to go with it so we're pretty pleased to get him in the stable.

"He's just a very well-balanced horse and a nice moving colt. We're thinking he might be a stallion proposition in time, that's the dream."
