Less than a fortnight after a watershed win, The Autumn Sun's availability for this year's breeding season is uncertain.

The Arrowfield Stud stallion suffered a pelvic injury that could impact his ability to fulfil his duties from September 1.

"The decision on his availability will be guided by veterinary advice with a focus on his long-term health and well-being," Arrowfield said via a statement.

"Our veterinary team is confident that The Autumn Sun will make a full recovery.

"A further update on his progress will be made in due course."

The Autumn Sun, a son of Redoute's Choice, celebrated a maiden Group 1 success as a sire when Autumn Angel won the ATC Oaks at Randwick on April 13.

He has also produced Group 2 winner Autumn Ballet and triple Group 1 placegetter Tutta La Vita and has Vibrant Sun, Coco Sun, The Autumn Belle, Private Legacy and Harvest Moon all acceptors in this Saturday's Group 1 Australasian Oaks at Morphettville.

The rising 10-year-old, a five-time Group 1 winner on the track, has stood at Arrowfield for the past five seasons and last year commanded a fee of $66,000.

Arrowfield Stud is yet to announce the fees for its 2024 stallion roster.
