Wesley Ward is taking his Royal Ascot raiders back home to the US, ruling out a tilt at the July Cup (Gr 1, 6f) at Newmarket next month for Campanelle (Kodiac).

The Stonestreet Stables-owned filly was second across the line, a head behind the Archie Watson-trained Dragon Symbol (Cable Bay) in the Commonwealth Cup (Gr 1, 6f) on Friday, however, was awarded the race in the stewards room after a long deliberation with the placings being reversed.

"Campanelle had a hard race in the Commonwealth Cup and she's flying home on Wednesday with the others.

"There are trainers that can run them right back after such races but I'm not one of them. We'll get her back to her stall at Keeneland and see how she is but I hope to come back to Europe with her for the Group 1 Prix Maurice de Gheest at Deauville in August."
