Aidan O’Brien-trained Classic winning filly had to be put down.
The Aidan O'Brien-trained Snowfall (Deep Impact), who romped home to a 16 length Oaks (Gr 1, 1m4f) victory last season, has been put down as the result of a pelvis injury she sustained a few weeks ago.
A winner at two, the Japanese-bred daughter of Deep Impact (Sunday Silence) won four of her seven starts at three last year, in addition to her devastating Oaks victory at Epsom she won the Irish Oaks (Gr 1, 1m4f) and the Yorkshire Oaks (Gr 1, 1m4f).
Snowfall was last ween finishing third in the British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes (Gr 1, 1m4f) in October having finished six in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (Gr, 1, 2400m).
We are deeply saddened to hear the news regarding Snowfall. Her stunning performance to win The @Cazoo Oaks by a record breaking margin last year will always guarantee her a place in the history books and we send our thoughts and best wishes to all connected with her. pic.twitter.com/VAu9VasDs2
