Sheikh Fahad al Thani's Longholes Stud in Newmarket is being offered for sale.

Founded by Sir George Bullough in the 1920s and passed via his daughter to the Hon John Lambton. On John Lambton's death the stud was bought by Sheikh Fahad in 2013 who, preserving its rich heritage of historic buildings, has made a significant investment to transform Longholes into one of the premier preparation and rehabilitation yards in the UK.

"Sheikh Fahad purchased Longholes in 2013 with a view to turning the attractive and historic stud farm into a state of the art pre-training and rehabilitation establishment servicing the requirements of his own Qatar Racing and also the wider training centre of Newmarket," said David Redvers.

"Sheikh Fahad is proud of what has been achieved at Longholes but a change in his own personal circumstances means that the farm's exciting future now needs to be in another's hands."

The state of the art rehabilitation and pre-training property boasts 88 stables, horse walkers, lunge rings, therapy equipment, a two and a half furlong canter and a six furlong woodchip gallop. The principal houses are for the manager and for the owner's use while visiting the property and there is ample staff accommodation. There are also extensive railed paddocks and approximately 100 acres of open pasture.

The sale is being handled by Windsor Clive International and Knight Frank and is being offered for sale as a whole or in 2 lots, by private treaty with a guide price of over £6 million.
