Mare adds fifth stakes win to her CV in Prix du Palais-Royal

Spinning Memories (5 m Arcano - Hanalei Memories by Hard Spun) - who is set to be offered at next week’s Magic Millions Online Sale - added a fifth stakes victory to her CV when she prevailed in a close finish to win the Prix du Palais-Royal (Gr 3, 1400m) at Clairefontaine on Thursday. 

Trained by Pascal Bary and raced by Pan Sutong Bloodstock, the mare came home strongly to reel in the longtime leader Azano (Oasis Dream), eventually beating him by a length with another short-head back to Stunning Spirit (Invincible Spirit) in third. 

The victory was the mare’s sixth overall win and adds to her stakes successes in the Prix Matchem (Listed, 1400m), Prix Maurice Zilber (Listed, 1400m) - which she landed for a second time earlier this month and the Prix de Meautry (Gr 3, 1200m). 

The mare is out of the unraced Hard Spun (Danzig) mare Hanalei Memories, whose other foal to race is also a winner. 

Spinning Memories’ third dam is dual Grade 1 winner Memories Of Silver (Hawk Silver) - the dam of fellow dual Grade 1 winner Winter Memories (El Prado), who in turn produced Listed scorer Winter Sunset (Tapit). Memories Of Silver is also the dam of Listed-winning duo British Blue (Storm Cat) and War Trace (Storm Cat) and Grade 3 winner La Cloche (Ghostzapper) who in turn produced fellow Grade 3 scorer Bellavais (Tapit), meanwhile she is also the grandam Grade 2 winner Hawkish (Artie Schiller) and Listed-winning pair Red Loge (Midshipman) and Elusive Collection (Elusive Quality). 

Mr Pan Sutong, will also be offering 33 lots from his Australian based operation Goldin Farms at next week’s Magic Millions Online Sale, which will get underway on June 2 and conclude on June 4. 

The Goldin Farms draft comprises 13 weanlings including 11 by now Swettenham Stud-based sire Akeed Mofeed (Dubawi) - who Mr Pan Sutong raced - and 19 broodmares, among them eight black-type performers.
