Sunday's Diana-Trial (Gr 2, 2000m) at Hoppegarten was won by the Henk Grewe-trained California Queen (3 f ex Kaldera by Sinndar) who provided the former Patinack Farm shuttler Lope De Vega (Shamardal) with his 69th stakes winner.

The filly defeated Snow (Sea The Moon) by a length and three quarters with Ocean Fantasy (Make Believe) a close third.

A €70,000 BBAG October Yearling Sale purchase by her trainer, California Queen is out of the Group 3 winner Kaldera (Sinndar), who was crowned champion three-year-old stayer in Germany in 2014.

The filly's second dam is Konigstochter (Dai Jin), a Listed winner who also produced the Listed winner Klungel (Jukebox Jury).

Further back this is the family of Group winners Konig Turf (Big Shuffle) and Konig Shuffle (Big Shuffle) and Konig Concorde (Big Shuffle).

Lope De Vega's stakes winners are headed by 10 Group 1 winners including his dual Group 1 winning son Belardo who shuttles to Haunui Farm.
