Siyouni (Pivotal) was handed his fourth Group 1 winner on Monday as the Frederic Rossi-trained Dream And Do (3 f ex Venetias Dream by Librettist) came out on top of a close finish in the Poule d'Essai des Pouliches (Gr 1, 1600m) at Deauville.

A winner of the Prix Miesque (Gr 3, 1400m) as a juvenile, the filly was beaten on her first start as a three-year-old in the Prix de la Grotte (Gr 3, 1600m), but she made a amends for that performance when she beat Speak Of The Devil (Wootton Bassett) by a nose with another two lengths back to Mageva (Wootton Bassett) in third. The highly touted Andre Fabre-trained filly Tropbeau (Showcasing) finished fourth.

"I am really happy with that. I think I got her beaten in the prep race at Longchamp in asking her to go a bit too soon,” said winning jockey Maxime Guyon. “This is a 1600 metres that really plays to speed. She has a really serious turn of foot."

The filly is out of Venetias Dream (Librettist), who was purchased by the MAB Agency for 80,000gns at the Tattersalls December Mare Sale in 2016 with the filly in utero. Dream And Do was passed in at €80,000 at the Arqana August Yearling Sale in 2018.

Venetias Dream herself is a half-sister to L'Enjoleuse (Montjeu) - the dam of three-time Group 1 winner Charm Spirit (Invincible Spirit), who shuttles to Windsor Park in New Zealand for the southern hemisphere covering season.

Further back this is also the family of Group 2-winning duo Snaadee (Danzig) and Russian Bond (Danzig) and Group 3 winner Cristofori (Fappiano) and Listed winner Crossover (Cape Cross).

Meanwhile, this is also the family of Star Of The Seas (Ocean Park), who won the Maurice McCarten Handicap (Gr 3, 1100m) in March and Listed winner and now Aquis Farm-based sire Spieth (Thorn Park).

Dream And Do joins Laurens, Ervedya and Sottsass as the Siyouni’s other elite level winners, while his 35 stakes winners include 2018 Todman Stakes (Gr 2, 1200m) winner Aylmerton.

Siyouni stood at Haras De Bonneval for a fee of €100,000 in 2020.
