Juddmonte Farms-based sire Kingman (Invincible Spirit) was provided with his 22nd stakes winner when his son Sinawann (3 c ex Simawa by Anabaa) landed the Amethyst Stakes (Gr 3, 1m) at Leopardstown on Wednesday.

The Michael Halford-trained three-year-old was last sighted running a respectable sixth behind Siskin (First Defence) in the Irish 2,000 Guineas (Gr 1, 1m) last month, and he chalked up his first win at stakes level when beating Confidence High (Kodiac) by a length with another three quarters of a length back to New World Tapestry (War Front) in third.

Bred and raced by the Aga Khan, the three-year-old colt is out of Listed-placed mare Simawa (Anabaa), who is also the dam of Listed winner Silwana (Peintre Celebre). Simawa was purchased by Outsider Bloodstock for €210,000 at the Goffs Ireland Breeding Stock Sale in 2018.

Simawa herself is out of Listed winner Sinntara (Lashkari), making her a half-sister to multiple Group 1-winning champion Sinndar (Grand Lodge) and the dam of Listed winner Sindriana (Kalanisi), who in turn produced fellow Listed winner Sirrin (Sea The Stars).

Sinntara is also the grandam of Group 3 winner Marie’s Diamond (Footstepsinthesand) and Mornington Cup Prelude (Listed, 2000m) winner Sikandarabad (Dr Fong).

Kingman stands at Juddmonte Farms’ Banstead Manor base and his stakes winners are headed by Group 1-winning pair Palace Pier and Persian King and he will be represented in Australia this season by his Group 2-winning son Calyx, who will stand at Coolmore Stud in the Hunter Valley for a fee of $17,600 (inc GST).
