The Tim Easterby-trained Art Power (3 c ex Evening Time by Keltos) made the trip to Ireland worthwhile as he ran out an ultra impressive winner of the Lacken Stakes (Gr 3, 6f) at Naas on Saturday and in the process provided Dark Angel (Acclamation) with his 61st stakes winner.

Last seen landing the Palace of Holyroodhouse Handicap (5f) at Royal Ascot, the colt had clearly had no issues stepping into stakes company for the first time, beating Millisle (Starspangledbanner) by two and a half lengths, while Zarzyni (Siyouni) was another four and a half lengths away in third.

The colt was purchased by Sackville Donald for €110,000 at the Goffs Ireland Orby Sale and he is out of dual Listed winner Evening Time (Keltos), making him a half-brother to Group 3 winner Penny Pepper (Fast Company) and Listed scorer Morning Frost (Duke Of Marmalade) and a further five winners.

Evening Time herself is a half-sister to Listed winner Distinctly North (Distinctly North) and the dam of Group 3 winners Titus Shadow (Titus Livius) and Orpen Shadow (Orpen) and Listed winner Choisir Shadow (Choisir).

Dark Angel is represented in Australia by his Group 1-winning son Harry Angel, who will stand at Darley’s Kelvinside base for a fee of $16,500 (inc GST).
