A day after Mother Earth handed the former shuttler Zoffany (Dansili) his 34th stakes winner, Minaun (2 f ex Bee Eater by Green Desert) became her sires 35th stakes winner when she took out the Marble Hill Stakes (Gr 3, 6f) at Cork on Sunday.

The Henry de Bromhead-trained filly beat Arctician (Dark Angel) by a neck whilst Military Style (War Front) was another three quarters of a length back in third.

Minaun, who was bought for only €8,000 at last  year’s Goffs Ireland Sportsman Yearling Sale, had finished second on debut at Leopardstown on June 21 and is out of the winning and stakes placed Green Desert (Danzig) mare Bee Eater who has now produced five winners from eight foals to race. Minaun is the only stakes winner to date for her dam who is herself out of Group 1 placed mare Littlefeather (Indian Ridge).

Minaun’s third dam is the four-time Group 1 winner Marwell (Habitat) who produced eight winners headed by multiple Group 1 winning filly Marling (Lomond).

Zoffany shuttled to Australia for four seasons between 2012 and 2015. His stakes winners are headed by two Group 1 winners in Ventura Storm and Albigna and he stood at Coolmore Stud in County Tipperary for a fee of €22,500 this year.
