Colt shows his class in the National Stakes
The Nigel Tinkler-trained Ubettabelieveit (2 c ex Ladylishandra by Mujadil) followed up his impressive maiden victory with an equally emphatic performance in the National Stakes (Listed, 5f) at Sandown on Thursday and in the process became stakes winner number 59 for Tally-Ho-based sire Kodiac (Danehill).
Last seen breaking his maiden on his second start at Doncaster, the two-year-old glided to the front and pulled away to post an easy length and a half victory over Wings Of A Dove (Dark Angel), while Mcmanaman (Dark Angel) finished another length and quarter further away in third.
The colt was purchased by Church Farm and Horse Park Stud for 50,000gns at Book 1 of the 2019 Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, having been snapped up by Barclay Bloodstock for €35,000 at the Goffs Ireland November Foal Sale the year before.
The colt is out of winning mare Ladylishandra (Mujadil), making him a half-brother to Italian Group 3 winner Harlem Shake (Moss Vale), fellow Group 3 scorer Tropical Paradise (Verglas) and Listed scorer Shenanigans (Arcano).
Kodiac’s progeny is headed by four Group 1 winners including Best Solution, who won the Caulfield Cup (Gr 1, 2400m) in 2018 and the Cambridge Stud co-owned Hello Youmzain.
The son of Danehill (Danzig) stood at Tally-Ho Stud in Ireland for a fee of €65,000 in 2020.
He's smart alright!
