Former reverse shuttler Pride Of Dubai (Street Cry) was handed his second winner in the northern hemisphere on Saturday as his son Fancy Man (2 c ex Fancy by Galileo) broke his maiden over six furlongs at Haydock.

The Richard Hannon-trained two-year-old colt - who was purchased by Peter & Ross Doyle Bloodstock for €30,000 at the Goffs Orby Yearling Sale - had no issues with the wet underfoot conditions, staying on strongly to beat Commonsensical (Bated Breath) by three-quarters of a length with another half a length back to No Recollection (Dansili) in third.

The colt is out of the unraced Galileo (Sadler’s Wells) mare Fancy, making him a half-brother to winner Hero Hero (No Nay Never).

Fancy herself is a daughter of Group 3 winner Danehill Music (Danehill), making her a sister to Listed-placed Seussical.

Further back, this is the same family as Masskana (Darshaan), who in turn produced Hong Kong Cup (Gr 1, 2000m) winner Eagle Mountain (Rock Of Gibraltar) and dual Grade 1 winner Dank (Dansili) and fellow elite scorer Sulk (Selkirk) - the dam of Listed scorer Ibn Buttuta (Seeking The Gold).

Masskana is also the dam of Group 3 winner Wallace (Royal Academy) and the dam of Listed scorer Pimpernel (Invincible Spirit), who in turn is the dam of UAE 2,000 Guineas (Gr 2, 1600m) winner Gold Town (Street Cry).

This is also the same family as New Zealand Listed winner Lady Le Fay (Thorn Park) and fellow stakes winner Lord Badger (Badger’s Drift).

Pride Of Dubai’s first southern hemisphere-bred crop has yielded ten winners in Australia headed by his Listed-winning son Tanker and it also includes the stakes placed pair Bella Nipotina and Dubai Star. He sits at the head of the leading first season sires table by earnings in Australia with progeny earnings of $1,283,180, over $300,000 clear of his nearest rival.
