Darley shuttler Territories sires seventh winner
Darley shuttler Territories (Invincible Spirit) has made a good start to his career as a stallion and on Thursday he was provided with his seventh first-crop winner as the Richard Fahey-trained Regional (2 c ex Favulusa by Dansili) made a winning debut in a maiden at Pontefract over five furlongs.
The two-year-old colt showed a good turn of to beat Politics (Muhaarar) by a length and three-quarters with another neck back to Zaman Jameel (Shamardal) in third.
Regional was purchased John and Jake Warren for 120,000gns from the Lodge Park draft at Book 2 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale in 2019, having been snapped up by Emerald Bloodstock for 35,000gns from the Tattersalls December Foal Sale the year before.
Regional is out of Listed-winning mare Favulusa (Dansili), who is herself the daughter of Group 3 winner Rosa Del Dubai (Dubai Destination), making her a half-sister to Italian Group 2 winner Folega (Oasis Dream) and Listed scorer Fa Ul Sciur (Farhh).
The colt’s third dam is Rosa di Brema (Lomitas), who finished second in the Oaks d'Italia (Gr 1, 2400m), produced Listed-winning trio Rogue Runner (King’s Best), Rolando (Campanologist) and Biancarosa (Dalakhani).
Regional joins Royal Scimitar, Teresa Mendoza, William Bligh, Rougir, Terrible Land and Uncle Jumbo as the stallion’s other first crop winners, while he is also the sire of Listed-placed Fulgentia. The son of Invincible Spirit (Green Desert) is set to stand at Darley’s Kelvinside base at a fee of $11,000 (inc GST) in 2020.
Lots to like - Regional (Territories) continues the good start for his sire with a winning start for @RichardFahey.

This colt has a bit of stamina in the pedigree but is not for catching over 5f at @ponteraces @Tonyhamilton83 pic.twitter.com/4D9VvfyMu1
