The Jean-Claude Rouget-trained Wally (3 g ex Full Of Beauty by Motivator) prevailed in close finish to win the Prix Pelleas (Listed, 2000m) at Compiegne on Monday and in the process became stakes winner number 36 for the Haras de Bonneval-based Siyouni (Pivotal).

Purchased by his trainer for €130,000 at the Arqana Deauville August Yearling Sale from Cadran draft, the three-year-old gelding beat Lackeen (Shamardal) by a short-head with another length and a half back to Gourmet (Dunkerque) in third.

The gelding is out of Group 2-placed Motivator (Montjeu) mare Full Of Beauty, who was purchased by Carlos and Yann Lerner for €60,000 at the Arqana Deauville Summer Mixed Sale carrying Wally in utero.

Full Of Beauty is herself out of Reaching Ahead (Mizzen Mast), making her a half-sister to Fairway Stakes (Listed, 1m2f) winner Grey Britain (Arcano).

The gelding’s third dam is Grade 3 winner Out Of Reach (Warning) - the dam of fellow Grade 3 winner Inordinate (Harlan’s Holiday).

Meanwhile, the Wally’s fourth dam is Listed winner Well Beyond (Don’t Forget Me), who is herself the grandam of King’s Stand Stakes (Gr 1, 5f) winner Prohibit (Oasis Dream), dual Listed winner Prior Warning (Barathea) and Emergency (Dr Fong).

This is also the family of Listed-scoring trio Belle Meade (Roderic O’Connor), My Reward (Rail Link) and Copper Knight (Sir Prancealot).

Siyouni stood at Haras de Bonneval for a fee of €100,000 in 2020.
