Extra Elusive lands Rose Of Lancaster Stakes
Former Windsor Park shuttler Mastercraftsman (Danehill Dancer) was provided with his 71st stakes winner courtesy of the Roger Charlton-trained Extra Elusive’s (5 g ex Nessina by Hennessy) victory in the Rose Of Lancaster Stakes (Gr 3, 1m2f) at Haydock on Saturday.
Last seen running second in the Steventon Stakes (Listed, 1m2f) behind Global Giant (Shamardal), on Saturday the gelding beat, Certain Lad (Clodovil) by two and a quarter lengths, while Global Giant was another three-quarters of a length away in third.
Purchased by Blue Diamond Stud Farm for 300,000gns at the 2018 Tattersalls Autumn Horses-in-Training Sale, the gelding is out of unraced Hennessy (Storm Cat) mare Nessina, making him a half-brother to Gimcrack Stakes (Gr 2, 6f) winner Ajaya (Invincible Spirit).
Nessina herself is out of Grade 2 winner Didina (Nashwan) - the dam of Listed winning duo Colonialism (Empire Maker) and Tantina (Distant View). Tantina is the dam of Group 1 winner and now Overbury Stud-based sire Cityscape (Selkirk) and Group 2 winner, Juddmonte Farms resident Bated Breath (Dansili) and Listed-placed Scuffle (Daylami).
Scuffle produced St Leger (Gr 1, 1m6.5f) winner Logician (Frankel), Group 3 winner Suffused (Champ Elysees) and Listed winner Collide (Frankel).
Further back this is the family of Listed-scoring trio Fame And Power (First Defence), Crying Lightening (Holy Roman Emperor) and Equilateral (Equiano), who was also placed at Group 1 level.
The son of Danehill Dancer (Danehill) previously shuttled to Windsor Park and he now stands exclusively at Coolmore Stud where his fee in 2020 was advertised as €25,000.

Extra Elusive makes all the running under a fine ride to land Group 3 honours at @haydockraces. Not a bad way to cement the new retainer with owner Imad Alsagar! @RogerCharlton pic.twitter.com/yXaMGejbw7
