Measure Of Time (3 c ex Inch Perfect by Theatrical) was given an inspired ride by Pierre-Charles Boudot to win the Prix Michel Houyvet (Listed, 2800m) at Deauville on Sunday and in the process handed Coolmore Stud stallion Gleneagles (Galileo) with his sixth stakes winner.

Having won his first two starts, the colt was most recently seen surrendering his unbeaten record when running third in the Prix du Lys (Gr 3, 2400m) on July 14.

However, the Andre Fabre-trained colt was able to regain that winning thread when collaring Zeyrek (Sea The Stars) in the dying strides, eventually beating him by a head. Manoucheer (Adlerflug) finished another three quarters of a length further away in third.

Bred by Inch Perfect Syndicate, Measure Of Time was purchased by Camas Park Stud for 80,000gns at the Tattersalls December Foal Sale from the Castlebridge Consignment and he is one of two winners out of the unraced Theatrical (Nureyev) mare Inch Perfect.

Inch Perfect herself is out of Listed winner Wooing (Stage Door Johnny) and the dam of fellow Listed winner Step By Step (Mountain Cat).

While the colt’s third dam - Minstinguette (Boldnesian) - produced multiple Group 1 winner Committed (Hagley), who in turn proved a top producer, being the dam of Grade 1 winner Pharma (Theatrical), multiple Grade 2 winner Hap (Theatrical) and Listed Committed Dancer (Nijinsky). Committed is also the grandam of multiple elite level scorer and successful English Channel (Smart Strike).

Gleneagles’ progeny is headed by Group 2 winning-pair Royal Dornoch and Royal Lytham and he stood at Coolmore Stud in Ireland for a fee of €35,000 in 2020.
