The famous yellow and black silks of Arrowfield Stud added some Australian flavour to the Deauville card on Sunday, as Skyward (4 c Camelot - Shakeyourbody by Giant's Causeway) carried them to victory in the Prix De Reux (Listed, 2500m).

The John Messara and Arno Curty-raced four-year-old had won a Listed race as a three-year-old but had failed to worry the judge in two starts this season. He returned to winning ways when beating Sublimis (Shamardal) by one and a half lengths with a further short-head back to Styledargent (Style Vendome).

The colt is out of winning Giant’s Causeway (Storm Cat) mare Shakeyourbody, who has produced two further winners; dual Group 3 scorer Siyoushake (Siyouni) and stakes-placed Pleasemetoo (Vale Of York).

Shakeyourbody is herself a sister to Grade 1 winner and sire Frost Giant, while is also a three-quarter sister to Listed winner Breathless Storm (Storm Cat).

The colt’s third dam is Oscillate (Seattle Slew) who produced Listed winner Mutakddim (Seeking The Gold) and Grade 1-placed mare Smooth Charmer (Easy Goer) - the dam of Grade 3 winner Sea Chanter (War Chant).

Meanwhile, Oscillate is also the grandam of Grade 2 winner Kavanagh (Tiger Ridge) and Grade 3-winning pair Pacific Ocean (Ghostzapper) and Oregon Lady. Further back this is also the same family as CS Hayes Stakes (Gr 3, 1400m) winner Playwright (Fantastic Light).

Camelot, who sired his 33rd stakes winner on Saturday when Current Option landed the Platinum Stakes (Listed, 7f) at Cork, stood in Australia for one season in 2014 and his capabilities as a stallion have been advertised by northern hemisphere-bred South Australian Derby (Gr 1, 2500m) winner Russian Camelot. The stallion stood at Coolmore’s base in Ireland for a fee of €40,000 in 2020.
