Daughter of Kodiac bounces back in the Curragh Stakes
Having finished second in the Marwell Stakes (Listed, 5f) on her last start, the Ger Lyons-trained Frenetic (2 f Kodiac - Moojha by Forest Wildcat) bounced back in the Curragh Stakes (Listed, 5f) on Friday.
A winner of the First Flier Stakes (Listed, 5f) on June 27, the two-year-old brought up her second victory at Listed level when beating Chief Little Hawk (Air Force Blue) by a length and three-quarters with another length and a half back to Blue Cabochon (Holy Roman Emperor) in third.
Purchased for 170,000gns by Sackville Donald at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale from the Hillwood Stud draft, Frenetic is out of the winning Forest Wildcat (Storm Cat) mare Moojha, making her a half-sister to American Listed winner Big Handsome (Street Boss).
Moojha herself is out of Grade 3 winner Kiss The Devil (Kris S), who is also the dam of Grade 3 scorer Kiss Moon (Malibu Moon) and Listed scorer Kiss Mine (Mineshaft), while she is also the grandam of dual Group 3 winner Besharah (Kodiac).
Further back this is the same family as Grade 3 winner Nonios (Pleasantly Perfect) and Listed scorer City Cool (City Zip).
Tally-Ho Stud-based sire Kodiac’s progeny is headed by four Group 1 winners, including 2018 Caulfield Cup (Gr 1, 2400m) winner Best Solution and the Cambridge Stud co-owned Hello Youmzain, who added a second Group 1 to his CV when he landed the Diamond Jubilee Stakes (Gr 1, 6f) at Royal Ascot earlier in the season.
Back to winning ways!
