In Deauville on Sunday Le Havre (Noverre) sired his 38th stakes winner when Wonderful Tonight (3 f ex Salvation by Montjeu) won the Prix Minerve (Gr 3, 2500m). Trained by David Menuisier, the filly defeated the short-priced favourite Valia (Sea The Stars) by two and a half lengths with another length back to Paix (Muhaarar) in third.

Wonderful Tonight is a half-sister to three winners including Listed scorer Penjade (Air Chief Marshal), being out of the three-time winning Montjeu (Sadler's Wells) mare Salvation. Her second dam is Listed winner Birdie (Alhaarth) who produced five winners including Grade 3 winner Hostess (Iffraaj). Further back this is the family of multiple Group 1 winner and successful sire Camelot (Montjeu).

Le Havre stands at Montfort et Preaux where his 2020 fee was set at €50,000. The Prix du Jockey Club (Gr 1, 2100m) winner has sired four Group 1 winners to date in La Cressonniere, Avenir Certain, Suedois and Villa Marina whilst he has also sired dual Australian Group 3 winner Auvray.

Also at Deauville on Sunday, Hurricane Dream (3 c ex Shalimara by Siyouni) provided his sire, Hurricane Cat (Storm Cat), with his 29th stakes winner when he landed the Prix Nureyev (Listed, 2000m). The colt scored by a short-head over Dawn Intello (Intello) with another length and a half back to Now We Know (Kendargent) in third. Hurricane Dream is the only winner out of the unraced Siyouni (Pivotal) mare Shalimara. She is a sister to the stakes placed Shamal and further back this is the family of multiple Grade 1 winner and sire Afleet Alex (Northern Afleet).

Hurricane Cat stood for only €3,000 at Haras de la Haie Neuve this year.

Former Darley shuttler Poet's Voice notched up stakes winner number 21 when the Preis der Stadtsparkasse Düsseldorf (Listed, 1400m) was won by Song Of Life (6 m ex Sign Of Life by Haafhd). Having finished runner-up at stakes level on her last two outings, Song Of Life scored a one and three quarter length victory over Godolphin's Dathanna (Dubawi) with the same distance back to Celestissime (Camelot) in third.

Now the winner of 11 starts, Song Of Life is one of two winners and the only stakes winner out of the unplaced Sign Of Life (Haafhd). She is a half-sister to Poule d'Essai des Poulains (Gr 1, 1600m) winner Victory Note (Fairy King) whilst Song Of Life's third dam is Trinity Term (Primera) who produced eight winners including the three-time Group 2 winner Welsh Term (Welsh Pageant).

Poet's Voice shuttled to Australia for five seasons between 2012 and 2016 when he covered 504 mares. He stood the 2020 northern hemisphere breeding season at Darley's Dalham Hall Stud in Newmarket where his fee was advertised at £6,000. His progeny include the multiple Group 1 winner Poet's Word whilst his Australian-bred crops include Trap For Fools who won the 2018 Mackinnon Stakes (Gr 1, 2000m).

Tiger Tanaka (2 f ex Miss Phillyjinks by Zoffany) meanwhile continued the good run of form of her sire, Clodovil (Danehill), when taking out Sunday's Prix Francois Boutin (Gr 3, 1400m) at Deauville. The victory provided the Rathasker Stud-based sire with his 25th stakes winner and second juvenile stakes winner of the season, following Steel Bull's Molecomb Stakes (Gr 3, 5f) win last month, with Tiger Tanka scoring a two length victory over La Gioiosa (Myboycharlie) whilst Unveil (Showcasing) finished another length and three quarters back in third.

Bought for only €6,500 by Pascale Menard at last year's Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale, Tiger Tanaka is the only winner out of winning mare Miss Phillyjinks (Zoffany) who is a half-sister to the dam of Listed winner Stormy Girl (Night Of Thunder). She is also from the family of stakes winners Snowdrops (Gulch) and Tawhid (Invincible Spirit).

Clodovil stood for a fee of €8,000 this year and his stakes winners include the former Chris Waller-trained multiple stakes winner Moriarty whose victories include the 2014 Kingston Town Classic (Gr 1, 1800m).
