Kick Boxing breaks maiden at Vichy

First-season sire Scissor Kick (Redoute’s Choice) sired his second winner, first in the northern hemisphere, as his son Kick Boxing (2 c ex Dulce de Leche by Victory Note) shed his maiden status at the third time of asking over 1600 metres at Vichy.

Last seen second over 1400 metres at Vichy, the two-year-old clearly appreciated the step up in trip, to beat Quindiano (Elvstroem) into second, while Idaho James (Hunter’s Light) came home in third.

Purchased by Christophe Escuder for €6,500 at the 2019 edition of the Arqana Deauville October Yearlings, the colt is the fifth winner out of unraced mare Dulce De Leche.

Dulce De Leche herself is a half-sister to Champion Stakes (Gr 1, 1m2f) winner Literato (Kendor).

Kick Boxing joins Dzsenifer as Scissor Kick’s other winner and stood at Arrowfield Stud, but now  exclusively resides at Haras d'Etreham in Normandy.
