The Mlle Stephanie-trained Normandy Bridge (2 c Le Havre - Aiglonne by Silver Hawk) shed his maiden status on debut at the first time of asking when landing the Prix de Fontenoy (1600m) at Longchamp on Thursday.

The colt is owned by Gerry Ryan - who is best known for owning 2010 Melbourne Cup (Gr 1, 3200m) winner Americain (Dynaformer) - and he beat Baby Rider (Gleneagles) by a length and three-quarters, while Easter (Exosphere) finished another two lengths back in third.

Purchased by John Foote for €80,000 at the 2019 Arqana Deauville October Yearling Sale he is out of Aiglonne (Silver Hawk), making him a half-brother to Prix d'Ispahan (Gr 1, 1850m) winner Mekhaal (Sea The Stars), Group 2 winner Democrate (Dalakhani) and Grade 3 winner Aigue Marine (Galileo).

Aiglonne herself is a half-sister to the dam Prix Saint-Alary (Gr 1, 2000m) Germance (Silver Hawk) and Listed scorer Gaily Game (Montjeu).

Le Havre (Noverre) stood at Montfort et Preaux in France for a fee of €50,000 in 2020.
