The Gilltown Stud-based resident Sea The Stars (Cape Cross) was represented by his 69th stakes winner on Friday as his daughter Conte De Fee (3 f ex Padmini by Tiger Hill) landed the Prix Occitanie (Listed, 1900m) at La Teste de Buch.

Starting in stakes company for the first time, having broken her maiden at Clairefontaine on July 31 and she had no issues with the step up in class, beating Vadsena (Makfi) by a neck, while Galova (Galiway) finished a further three and a quarter lengths adrift in third.

Purchased by Tina Rau Bloodstock for 100,000gns at Book 2 of the 2018 Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, Conte De Fee is out of winning Tiger Hill (Danehill) Padmini making her a half-sister to Listed winner Lucie Manette (Shamardal).

Padmini herself is out of multiple Group 1 winner Petrushka (Unfuwain) - the dam of six winners including stakes-placed Parlour Games (Monsun).

Sea The Stars - whose progeny is headed by 14 Group 1 winners include last season's Australian Cup (Gr 1, 2000m) winner Fifty Stars and Sydney Cup (Gr 1, 3200m) victor Shraaoh - stood at the Aga Khan's Gilltown Stud for a fee of €150,000 this year.
