The Xavier Thomas Demeaulte-trained All Rumours (4 f ex Aquamarine by Deep Impact) landed her first stakes race in the Grand Prix De Fontainebleau (Listed, 2000m) on Wednesday and in the process became stakes winner number 149 for former Darley shuttler Shamardal (Giant’s Causeway).

Last seen running fourth in the Prix de la Pepiniere (Listed, 2100m), the four-year-old filly beat Romanciere (Dansili) by three-quarters of a length, while Nausha (Kingman) finished another three and a half lengths away in third.

All Rumours is out of Prix Allez France (Gr 3, 2000m)-winning Deep Impact (Sunday Silence) mare Aquamarine.

Further afield this is the same family as Grade 1 winner Angara (Alzao), Grade 2 scorer Actrice (Danehill) and Arlesienne (Alzao), who in turn produced Group 3 winner Affaire Solitaire (Danehill Dancer) and Listed-winning pair Aizavoski (Monsun) and Andromeda Galaxy (Peintre Celebre).

Meanwhile, Listed scorers Akatea (Shamardal) and September Stars (Sea The Stars) and Teodoro (Teofilo), who landed the Rose Of Lancaster Stakes (Gr 3, 1m2½f) also feature on the page.

Shamardal, dual Champion racehorse and a leading light on the Darley stallion roster for well over ten years, was euthanised at Kildangan Stud earlier this year as a result of health issues.

The stallion is represented in Australia by his sire son Puissance De Lune, who stands at Swettenham Stud for a fee of $18,000 (plus GST), while Blue Point is currently covering his first book of mares at Darley’s Northwood Park base for a fee of $44,000 (inc GST).
