Former Arrowfield Stud resident Scissor Kick (Redoute’s Choice) sired his sixth winner on Thursday as his son Angelino (2 c Angel Of Harlem by Holy Roman Emperor) broke his maiden over 1800 metres at Compiegne.

Having the sixth start of his career, the two-year-old beat Melandros (Charming Thought) into second, while Flash Time (Rajasman) in third.

The colt was purchased by the HSV Agency for €8,000 at the 2018 Arqana December Breeding Stock Sale, before being snapped up by JMC Bloodstock for €25,000 at the Osarus La Teste Yearling Sale the following year.

Angelino himself is out of three time-winning Holy Roman Emperor (Danehill) mare Angel Of Harlem, making him a half-brother to one further winner.

The colt’s third dam is Listed scorer Native Twine (Be My Native) - the dam of Tahreeb (Indian Ridge).

Native Twine herself is a half-sister to Group 2 winner Alderbrook (Ardross), Group 3 scorer Restructure (Danehill) and Listed winner Royal Stand (Royal Academy), while further afield this is the same family as multiple Grade 2 winner Madam Dancealot (Sir Prancealot).

Scissor Kick stood at Arrowfield Stud, but now exclusively resides at Haras d'Etreham in Normandy where his fee in 2020 was advertised as €5,000.
