Even after nearly throwing away victory after veering dramatically right in the final furlong, Flying Visit (2 c ex Fionnuar by Teofilo) proved far superior to his rivals to shed his maiden status at the sixth time of asking when winning over a mile at Listowel on Thursday and in the process became the eighth northern hemisphere bred winner for former Coolmore Stud reverse shuttler Pride Of Dubai (Street Cry).

The colt appeared to have the race at his mercy, but would have supporters worried when drifting to the standside rail, but was still able to pull victory out of the bag, beating Dha Leath (Mehmas) by six lengths, while Cold Steel (Summer Front) was another length and a half away in third.

Bred and trained by Jim Bolger, the colt is the third winner out of four time-winning Teofilo (Galileo) mare Fionnuar, who is herself a daughter of winning Danzig (Northern Dancer) mare Six Nations.

Six Nations is a daughter of Listed winner Six Crowns (Secretariat), making her a sister to multiple Grade 1 winner Chief’s Crown and a half-sister to fellow elite level winner Classic Crown (Mr. Prospector).

Classic Crown is also the grandam of Grade 2 winner Reach The Crown (Special Week) and Listed scorer Crown Princess (Special Week).

Pride Of Dubai is the sire of three stakes winners; Bella Nipotina and Tanker from his first crop in Australia and Star Of Emaraaty and Fancy Man - from his first northern hemisphere crop.

The son of Street Cry (Machiavellian) shuttled to Ireland for three seasons and now resides exclusively at Coolmore Jerrys Plains where his fee is advertised as $38,500 (inc GST).
