Darley shuttler Territories (Invincible Spirit) continued his great start in the breeding shed as he was represented by his 13th first-crop winner when the Andre Fabre-trained Numero Dix (2 c ex Timely Words by Galileo) won over 1200 metres at Chantilly on Friday.

The colt left his rivals in his wake as he surged clear to post a four length victory over Lozen (Showcasing), while Make Gold (Mayson) finished another length and a half away in third.

Numero Dix is out of unraced Galileo (Sadler’s Wells) mare Timely Words who is a half-brother to 2017 Melbourne Cup (Gr 1, 3200m) winner Rekindling (High Chaparral) and Chester Vase (Gr 3, 1m4f) winner Golden Sword (High Chaparral).

Timely Words is also a half-sister to the dams of dual Listed winner Julie’s Love (Ad Valorem) and Julio (Exceed And Excel), who won at Group 3 level in Germany.

The stallion’s first-crop also includes stakes-placegetters Fulgentia, Teresa Mendoza and Terrible Land and the son of Invincible Spirit (Green Desert) is standing at Darley’s Kelvinside base at a fee of $11,000 (inc GST). He is currently sitting in fourth place in the leading first season sires table in Europe by winners and occupies that same position in the table by earnings.
