Juddmonte Farms’ Oasis Dream (Green Desert) sired his 122nd stakes winner on Saturday courtesy of the Andre Fabre-trained Erasmo’s (2 c ex Sant Elena by Efisio) victory in the Prix De Bonneval (Listed, 1100m) at Chantilly.

Last seen breaking his maiden at the second time of asking over 1400 metres at Saint-Cloud on September 11, the Godolphin-raced colt beat Saqr (Dutch Art) into second, while Ludo (Penny’s Picnic) came home in third.

The colt was purchased by Rabbah Bloodstock for 140,000gns at Book 2 of the 2019 Tattersalls October Yearling Sale and he is out of the Listed-placed Efisio (Formidable) mare Sant Elena, whose six winners are headed by dual Group 1 winner Reckless Abandon (Exchange Rate) and Japanese Listed scorer Best Approach (New Approach), while she is also the grandam of Group 3 winner West End Girl (Golden Horn).

Sant Elena herself is a half-sister to Group 1 winner Brando (Pivotal), while she also counts fellow elite level winner Ticker Tape (Royal Applause) among her half-siblings.

Oasis Dream’s progeny is headed by 17 Group 1 winners, including Power who stands at Oaklands Stud in Queensland.

Earlier on in the day at Chantilly, Cheveley Park-based sire Pivotal (Polar Falcon) was handed his 152nd stakes winner as the Kevin Ryan-trained Last Empire (4 m ex Final Dynasty by Komaite) landed the Prix de Bonneval (Listed, 1100m).

The four-year-old mare came into the race off the back of a second place finish in the Scottish Sprint Stakes (Listed, 5.5f) at Ayr and she went one better when beating  Bavaria Baby (Dabirsim) by half a length, while Silent Wave (War Front) was another two and a half lengths away in third.

The mare was purchased by Joe Foley for 70,000gns at Book 2 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale in 2017 and she is from the family of Listed-winning pair Castelletto (Komaite) and Proud Boast (Komaite).

Pivotal - whose 31 Group 1s include last season’s Ranvet Stakes (Gr 1, 2000m) and Queen Elizabeth Stakes (Gr 1, 2000m) winner Addeybb - and he stood for a private fee in 2020.
