Trainer Joseph O’Brien’s decision to send Traisha (4 f ex Dress Rehearsal by Galileo) to Bath in search for some valuable black-type paid off on Wednesday as the four-year-old produced a authoritative performance to win the Beckford Stakes (Listed, 1m6f) and in the process became stakes winner number 130 for the Irish National Stud-based Invincible Spirit (Green Desert).

Last seen running sixth in the Loughbrown Stakes (Gr 3, 2m), the filly clearly appreciated the step down in trip, surging clear in the final stages to beat Urban Artist (Cityscape) by three lengths, while Hereby (Pivotal) was another neck away in third.

Purchased by Charlie Gordon-Watson for 400,000gns at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale in 2017, the filly is out of Grade 3-winning Galileo (Sadler’s Wells) mare Dress Rehearsal making her a half-sister to Listed winner Baby Pink.

Dress Rehearsal herself is a half-sister to Listed winner Fairy Of The Night (Danehill), who in turn produced dual Group 2 winner Muthmir (Invincible Spirit) and Group 3 scorer My Titania (Sea The Stars), while she is also the dam of Aneedah (Invincible Spirit) - the dam of Listed winner Gorgeous Noora (Raven’s Pass).

Further afield this is the same family as dual Group 3 winner Majestic Queen (Kheleyf).

Being out of a Galileo mare the filly is bred on the same cross as six stakes winners, headed by Group 1 winner Magna Grecia, who is currently covering his first book of mares at Coolmore’s Jerrys Plains base at a fee of $22,000 (inc GST).

Invincible Spirit’s progeny is headed by 20 elite level winners and he stood for a fee of €100,000 in 2020.
