Siyouni’s (Pivotal) excellent season continued as he sired his 42nd stakes winner when New Harzburg (3 f ex Notre Dame by Acatenango) landed the Silbernes Band der Ruhr (Listed, 2000m) at Mulheim on Wednesday.

The three-year-old filly was last seen running fifth Stadtrat Carl Philipp Graf Zu Solms-Wildenfels Steher-Cup (Listed, 2800m) in September and he bounced back to form when beating Lismore (Zoffany) into second, while Kaiserperle (Montmatre) came home in third.

Purchased for 100,000gns at the 2017 Tattersalls December Foals Sale, before selling to Tina Rau Bloodstock for 50,000gns at Book 1 of the 2018 Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, the filly is out of three-time winning Acatenango (Surumu) Notre Dame, whose nine winners are headed by Group 2 winner Now We Can (Martillo) and Listede-placed filly Now Again (Lomitas).

Notre Dame herself is a sister to Group 3 winner Noel, while she is also a half-sister to Group 2 winner Noroit (Monsun).

Siyouni’s progeny is headed by five Group 1 winners, including Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (Gr 1, 2400m) winner Sottsass and St Mark's Basilica, who won the Dewhurst Stakes (Gr 1, 7f) last Saturday. The son of Pivotal (Polar Falcon) stands at Haras de Bonneval in France and his fee was advertised as €100,000 in 2020.
