Sadalsuud breaks maiden in Milan
Darley shuttler Territories (Invincible Spirit) sired his 16th first-crop winner when his daughter Sadalsuud (2 f ex Ephigenie by Groom Dancer) broke her maiden at the third time of asking over 1600 metres in Milan.
The Roberto Biondi-trained two-year-old filly beat Devolvido (Desert Prince) into second, while Sopran Aragorn (Coulsty) came home in third.
Purchased by Marco Bozzi Bloodstock for 16,000gns at Book 3 of the 2019 Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, the filly becomes the second winner out of Listed-winning mare Ephigenie (Groom Dancer).
Ephigenie herself is out of Group 2-placed Enrica (Niniski), the dam of German Group 1 winner Enora (Noverre) and she in turn produced Group 2 winner Erasmus (Reliable Man).
Enrica is also the dam of dual Group 2 winner Egerton (Groom Dancer), Group 3 scorer Ephraim (Rail Link) and Listed winner Ernesto (Reliable Man), while she is also the grandam of Listed scorer Enissa (Soldier Hollow).
Territories first European-bred crop includes stakes-winning pair Fulgentia and Rougir and he is standing at Darley’s Kelvinside base for a fee of $11,000 (inc GST).
