Arrowfield Stud shuttler Shalaa (Invincible Spirit) sired his 21st first-crop winner on Friday as his daughter Let’s (2 f ex Elizabelle by Westerner) took out the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden (6f) on her third career start at Dundalk.

Trained by Ken Condon, the two-year-old filly proved too strong for her rivals, pulling away to beat Twilight Man (Twilight Son) by almost four lengths, while Smart Remark (Tamayuz) was another half a length away in third.

The filly was purchased by KF Bloodstock for €42,000 at the Goffs Sportsman Sale from the Baroda Stud draft and she is fifth winner out of placed mare Elizabelle (Westerner), who is herself a half-sister to Listed scorer Orizaba (Orpen).

Further back this is the same family as Group 3 winner Bay Empress (Empery), who in turn produced Listed scorer Bela-M (Ela-Mana-Mou) - the dam of Listed-winning pair Belle Syrienne (Golan) and Brisk Breeze (Monsun).

This is also the same family as Group 3 scorer Beneventa (Most Welcome) - the dam of Bow Creek, who won twice at Group 2 level including taking out the 2016 edition of the Peter Young Stakes (Gr 2, 1800m).

Shalaa’s first southern hemisphere-bred crop include his Breeders’ Plate (Gr 3, 1000m) winning son Shaquero and Group 3 placed daughter Nice For What, whilst in the northern hemisphere he has sired three stakes performers in No Speak Alexander, Legal Attack and Saeiqa.

Shalaa’s 2021 fee at Haras de Bouquetot has been set at €15,000.
