Former Arrowfield Stud resident Scissor Kick (Redoute’s Choice) sired his 15th first-crop winner on Sunday as Michel (2 g ex Marron by Raven's Pass) chalked up his first victory on his third attempt over 1600 metres at Pau.

The two-year-old gelding was last seen running eighth, having run second on debut and he finally got his head in front when he beat Twin Boy (Myboycharlie) into second, while Bobby (Diamond Green) came home in third.

Purchased by Didier Guillemin for €12,000 at the 2019 Arqana Deauville August Yearling Sale, the gelding is out Marron (Raven’s Pass), who is herself the daughter of Morzine (Miswaki) - a half-sister to Grade 2 scorer Three Valleys (Diesis).

Morzine also counts Back Pass (Quest For Fame) as one of her half-siblings and Back Pass herself is a the dam of Scissor Kick and Listed winner Sharkbite, while she is also the half-sister to the dam of Newmarket Fillies' Mile (Gr 1, 1m) winner Quadrilateral (Frankel).

Scissor Kick stood at Arrowfield Stud for four seasons and now resides exclusively at Haras d'Etreham in France and he will stand for an unchanged fee of €5,000 in 2021.
