Churchill notches up stakes winner number three and Kodiac, Teofilo, Epaulette, Frankel, Le Havre & New Approach sire new stakes winners

Coolmore Australia shuttler Churchill (Galileo) sired his third stakes winner on Sunday when Snaffles (2 c ex Annabelle Ja by Singspiel). Trained by Joseph O'Brien, Snaffles stayed on well to defeat King X J (Cotai Glory) by three quarters of a length and he is now the winner of two of his three career starts. 

Churchill has sired 19 winners so far in his first European-bred crop, with Snaffles joining Ladies Church and Vadeni as stakes winners for the son of Galileo (Sadler's Wells). He has also sired three stakes performers in Unconquerable, La Estrellita and The Acropolis. 

Churchill's 2021 fee is set at $22,000 (inc GST). 

 

75 for Kodiac 
Geocentric (2 f ex Rajmahal by Indian Ridge) provided Tally-Ho Stud's Kodiac (Danehill) with his 75th stakes winner on Friday when the Ger Lyons-trained filly won the Legacy Stakes (Listed, 5f) at Dundalk. Kodiac's stakes winners include five Group One winners including Hello Youmzain who is standing his first season at Cambridge Stud this year. 

 

100 for Teofilo 
Former Darley shuttler Teofilo (Galileo) sired stakes winner number 100 on Friday when Scope (3 c ex Look So by Efisio) won the Noel Murless Stakes (Listed, 1m6f) at Ascot. The Ralph Beckett-trained filly pulled clear to score an impressive seven and a half length victory over Chalk Stream (Sea The Stars). Teofilo stood in Australia for six seasons between 2009 and 2017 and his stakes winners are headed by 21 Group One winners including Kermadec and Palentino. Meanwhile, his sons Twilight Payment and Cross Counter both won the Melbourne Cup (Gr 1, 3200m). 

 

16 for Epaulette
The David Hayes-trained Australian-bred Super Wealthy (6 g ex Well Hidden by More Than Ready) won the National Day Cup (Gr 3, 1000m) at Sha Tin becoming stakes winner number 16 for Epaulette (Commands). 

 

79 for Frankel 
The Lady Bamford homebred Dreamflight (2 c ex Dream Peace by Dansili) provided Juddmonte Farm's Frankel (Galileo) with his 79 stakes winner on Friday when he won the Prix Thomas Bryon (Gr 3, 1600m) at Saint Cloud. Frankel is operating at a strike rate of 15.5 per cent stakes winners to runners and his stakes winners include 19 Group One winners. 

 

48 for Le Havre
Jupyra (4 f ex Petit Noblesse by Galileo) captured Friday's Prix Dahlia (listed, 2000m) at Saint-Cloud becoming stakes winner number 48 for Le Havre (Noverre). 

 

56 for New Approach 
Darley's New Approach (Galileo) recorded his 56th stakes winner on Friday when Bel Aristo (3 c ex Baroness Daniela by Tiger Hill) landed the Prix Scaramouche (Listed, 2800m). New Approach stood for a private fee in 2021.
