Anasia lands Prix Rose De Mai at Saint-Cloud and Gris De Gris notches up his first stakes winner later on the card

The Haras du Quesnay-based sire Intello (Galileo) was provided with his 14th stakes winner on Thursday as the Andre Fabre-trained Anasia (3 f ex Sosia by Shamardal) added some valuable black-type to her CV in the Prix Rose De Mai (Listed, 2000m) at Saint-Cloud.

The filly won once as a two-year-old, but showed stakes promise when finishing second in the Prix De Conde (Gr 3, 1800m) on September 28. Making her first appearance as a three-year-old, the filly led the whole way and stayed on strongly to fight off the late challenge from British raider Mystery Angel (Kodi Bear), eventually beating her by a neck. Thunder Drum (Dubawi) was a further length away in third.

Bred and raced by Wertheimer & Frere, the two-year-old filly is the only winner out of winning Shamardal (Giant’s Causeway) mare Sosia and she is herself a half-sister to Italian Group 1 winner Sortilege (Tiger Hill) and Group 3 winner Soudania (Sea The Stars).

Further back this is the same pedigree as Group 1-winning trio Samum (Monsun), Schiaparelli (Monsun) and Salve Regina (Monsun) - the dam of Group 2 scorer Salve Germania (Peintre Celebre).

Intello is standing for a fee of €10,000 and his stakes-winning progeny is headed by Group 1 winner Intellogent, while he is also the sire of Young Rascal, whose four Group 3 wins include last year’s NE Manion Cup (Gr 3, 2400m).

Later on in the afternoon at Saint-Cloud, Padron (4 c ex Marianabaa by Anabaa) handed Gris De Gris (Slickly) with his first stakes winner when he landed the Priz Altipan (Listed, 1600m).

The four-year-old defeated Celestin (Dabirsim) by a length and a quarter, while Alpen Rose (Sea The Stars) was the same distance away in third.

Gris De Gris is standing at Haras de Tierce in France for a fee of €2,300.
