Urgent Appeal wins the Prix Montenica at Chantilly

Former Haunui Farm shuttler Showcasing (Oasis Dream) was represented by his 52nd stakes winner on Thursday when Urgent Appeal (3 c ex Zayanida by King’s Best) won the Prix Montenica (Listed, 1300m). 

The Andre Fabre-trained colt, who has now won his last three starts, scored a three quarter length victory over Chocoya (Sepoy) while Sotoro (Toronado) was another length and a half away in third. 

A €300,000 Arqana Deauville October Yearling Sale purchase by Stroud Coleman on behalf of Godolphin, Urgent Appeal is a half-brother to Group 3 winner Ziyraid (Desert Style), who raced in Hong Kong as Cheers Joy as well as Listed winning filly Zayva (Raven’s Pass). 

Showcasing’s 2021 fee at Whistbury Manor Stud in England is advertised at £45,000. His stakes winners are headed by three Group 1 winners in Advertise, Quiet Reflection and Mohaather.
