Son of In The Wings dies aged 17

Adlerflug, the sire of last year's German Derby (Gr 1, 2400m) winner and Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (Gr 1, 2400m) runner-up In Swoop and a top-class performer on the track himself, has died at the age of 17.

The son of In The Wings (Sadler’s Wells) is the sire of 16 stakes winners and In Swoop is one of five elite level winners for the Adlerflug, who had been standing for a career-high of €16,000 at Gestut Schlenderhan, having enjoyed his best campaign in 2020.

Owned and bred by Gestut Schlenderhan, the son of In The Wings was a seven-length scorer of the German Derby at three and followed up by finishing second in the Grosser Preis von Baden (Gr 1, 2400m). As four-year-old Adlerflug was successful in the Deutschland Preis (Gr 1, 2400m).
