Novemba (3 f ex Nevada by Dubai Destination) led from the barriers and scored an impressive seven and a half length victory in Sunday’s German 1000 Guineas (Gr 2, 1600m) at Dusseldorf, providing her sire, Gleneagles (Galileo) with his 12th stakes winner.

Sky Angel (Dark Angel) was no match for the winner and finished in second, with Belcarra (Estidhkaar) a neck further away in third.

Bred and raced by Gestut Brummerhof, Novemba has now won two of her six career starts. She is out of the Listed winner Nevada (Dubai Destination), a half-sister to Group 3 winner Nordico (Medicean) and Listed winner Nordic Flight (Adlerflug). Further back this is the family of Australian Group 2 winner La Falaise (Canford Cliffs).

Gleneagles stood at Coolmore Stud in Ireland for a fee of €25,000 this year.

Later on the card the Andreas Suborics-trained Jin Jin (5 m Canford Cliffs - Josphiel by Okawango) won the Badener Meile (Gr 2, 1600m). Having the first start of the season, the five-year-old mare went to the front and led. She kept on well in the closing stages to score a two and a half length victory over Alpen Rose (Sea The Stars).

The mare is one of 18 stakes winners for Canford Cliffs (Tagula).
